Illinois Swimming is proud to announce that 74 of its members have made the USA Swimming Scholastic All-America Team, 24 more than in 2010. The Team recognizes high school student-athletes who have a grade point average of 3.5 or higher and who have achieved the required time standard in a single event. Congratulation to all the swimmers at the Olympic TrialsCongratulations World Junior Swimmers! Congratulations to Illinois Swimming athletes Olivia Smoliga, Reed Malone and Danny Thomson. These athletes recently represented the United States in the World Junior Swimming Championships held in Lima, Peru. Olivia, from Glenview Titan Aquatic Club finished 5th in the Girls 50 Meter Backstroke and 7th in the Girls 100 Meter Backstroke; Reed Malone from New Trier Swim Club finished 6th in the Mens 400 Meter Freestyle and Danny Thomson from Hinsdale Swim Club finished 10th in both the Mens 800 Meter Freestyle and the Mens 1500 Meter Freestyle.
