12-28-2011 Synergy Swim Team Head Coach
The Synergy Swim Team (formally Rock Island Orcas) is seeking an immediate, fulltime Head Coach for its year-round competitive swim team of approximately 70 swimmers. We are an established competitive swim team comprising of learn-to-swim up through state champions. We are a non-profit, parent board managed team. Based
out of the Rock Island High School, the team uses the 6 lane 25 yard pool for practices and meets. This team has room to grow within the Quad Cities. The ideal applicant will be reliable, show a long-term commitment to the team and enjoy working with youth swimmers. He or she must possess a current USA Coach Certification, current ASCA
certification, valid Lifesaving Certificate and Current certification in CPR, First Aid and Safety Training. A working knowledge of the HYTEK Meet Manager program, Team Unify program and the management of a competitive youth swim team is required.
The Head Coach will:
Give instructions on correct swimming techniques to swimmers aged 6-18.
Establish swim team practice and meet schedules.
Coordinate swimmer registration and coaching assignments for all swim meets.
Work on the Team Unify website to perform meet entries and weekly updates.
Supervise, train, and provide technical assistance to 4-5 part-time coaches.
Be responsible for coordinating the marketing, advertising, fundraising and
financial stability of the team and for the recruitment and retention of all
swimmers.
Perform all other duties as assigned.
The preferred candidate will have:
An ASCA (American Swim Coach Assn.) Level 3 or higher accreditation.
At least 3 years of experience as a USA Swim Coach (head coach or lead age group experience preferred).
A four year college degree with a major in Recreation, Physical Education or other closely related field.
Extensive experience in a like position with similar duties and responsibilities may be substituted for all or part of these requirements.
Starting salary based on qualifications and experience. Evenings and weekends will be required.

12-05-2011 Barrington Swim Club Part Time Age Group Coach
The Barrington Swim Club (BSC) is seeking well-qualified candidates for a part time assistant coaching position. BSC is a160 member year round, full service aquatic club with age group and senior swimming programs for Illinois School District 220 residents.
Successful Candidates wil report to and directly work with the Head Coach. The posistion entail attending all scheduled practices and meets for their training group. This requires 6days per week, about 18 hours, plus meet attendance about once per month. Projected Start date is as soon as a successful candidate is found.
Essential Accountabilities: 1. Organize and direct developmental and age group swimmers; 2. Assist in organizing and attend year round swim meets; 3. Thorough understanding of all four competitive strokes.
Job Requirements: Current CPR, First Aid, and Safety Training for Swimming Coaches certifications are required. Passing the USA Swimming background check and Child Protection course, as well as a club background check is mandatory.

11-15-2011 Hornet Swim Club Assistant Coach
Hornet Swim Club, located in Darien, IL is looking for a qualified and dynamic Assistant Coach. Our club is a USA Swimming year-round competitive swim team offering high quality professional coaching and technique instruction for swimmers of varying abilities ages 6-18. The Assistant Coach will assist in the administering and supervising of workouts, must be able to coach early evening hours Monday-Friday during the school year as well as early morning and afternoon hours during the summer. The Coach will also need to be available to attend meets on selected weekends. Applicant must have a strong desire to teach and coach younger, developmental swimmers (ages 10 & under). The position is part- time. Current certification in CPR, First Aid and Safety Training or the ability to achieve them is required. Applicant must be (or become before the first day of employment) certified as a coach by USA Swimming, which includes undergoing a background check. 10-31-2011 HP Aquatics Club – Assistant Coaching Position
The HP Aquatics Club is currently seeking an individual to round out our coaching staff for the current short course season. The ideal candidate is someone who has prior age group coaching experience and can work well with a variety of ability levels. The candidate must possess strong knowledge of stroke mechanics for all ability levels and be able to relate well with young swimmers. Applicants must hold certifications in CPR, First Aid and Safety Training (or be able to achieve these before beginning coaching duties). Applicants should be available most evenings during the school year. The individual taking this position should be good at working within an established framework for swimmer development. We are looking for reliable individuals who enjoy working with youth.
HP Aquatics was established in 2007 and has grown to 180 swimmers. Training is done mainly at Highland Park High School, but other pools in the area are also used. 09-28-2011 Burbank Stingrays Assistant Coach
Are you looking to help reinvent a swim club, and take them to a whole new level? If you are motivated to help a team to grow, this is the position for you. The Burbank Stingrays is a parent-run club based in the southwest suburbs. Recently we restructured our program and had a higher than expected turn out of swimmers this season resulting in the need to add an additional Assistant Coach to our staff. The applicant must be interested in helping our swimmers improve through proper swim techniques and skill development in a competitive setting.
Responsibilities include:
- Conduct practices Monday through Thursday evenings for conditioning and stroke development for swimmers of all ages (but primarily under 12).
- Assist the Head Coach by identifying goals and presenting instructional methods for team, and work with the swimmers to achieve their individual goals.
- Demonstrate enthusiasm for the sport, motivate swimmers and help develop a positive team atmosphere.
Requirements:
Must maintain current certifications in CPR, First Aid, Safety Training for Swim Coaches, and ISI coaching certification or have the ability to achieve them. Applicant must have the ability to be certified as a coach by USA Swimming. Swimming experience required; prior coaching position working with children in a competitive setting a plus.
Depending on experience, pay will range from $10 to $12 per hour, and will be approximately 15 to 24 hours per week. Additional hours may be available as well.
